Use ./dev.sh for the fastest full-stack local boot.
Developer setup
¶ Local Development
Run the whole ReplyBox stack with one script, or start the infrastructure and each app separately when you need a smaller feedback loop.
Run Docker Compose when you only need Postgres, Redis, MinIO, and supporting services.
Start API, web, or connector independently while debugging one surface.
Choose the smallest process set that proves the code path you changed.
Fast path
¶ Everything
Start here when you want the local environment up as a complete working stack.
./dev.sh
Foundation
¶ Infra Only
Bring up the shared backing services without starting the app processes.
docker compose -f infra/docker/compose.yaml up -d
Backend
¶ API
Create the virtual environment, install developer dependencies, run migrations, then start FastAPI on port 8000.
cd apps/api
python -m venv .venv
source .venv/bin/activate
pip install -e ".[dev]"
alembic upgrade head
uvicorn app.main:app --reload --port 8000
Frontend
¶ Web
Install the web workspace dependencies and run the frontend dev server.
cd apps/web
pnpm install
pnpm dev
¶ Connector
Run the Baileys connector locally when you need to exercise WhatsApp transport behavior.
cd apps/baileys-connector
pnpm install
pnpm dev
Suggested order
¶ Pick the command set by what you are touching.
./dev.sh for full-stack work.
